A rare treat for cash strapped moviegoers these days is a movie in 3D that actually *should* be in 3D. Sony has done a fantastic job in rebooting the Spider-Man franchise with Andrew Garfield (Part 2 is already scheduled for a 2014 release) and the special effects in this "amazing" movie are really best appreciated in 3D. A lot of times I think studios are just trying to cash in on the 3D fad because that gives them an extra 2 to 5 dollars per customer which they can use to pad their box office receipts. But this movie has it all: highlights, action sequences, and aerial shots that just look so utterly different in 3D than they do in 2D. I saw the film in 2D and thought it was fantastic, but that time I was focused more on the story and the characters. Seeing it in 3D really helped me appreciate the technological aspect of the movie that creates a new benchmark for superhero flicks. Even if you think it's a splurge, you should see it in 3D.

I just can't get over how much I loved this movie! I think it's probably the best movie of the summer, maybe even of the year. I usually get dizzy when watching 3D movies (I was hurling half way through Avatar, no joke) but this is one movie that really begs to be seen in 3D. The action scenes just come to life in 3D and get your adrenaline going like nothing else. How else can you watch Spider-Man battle a giant dragon monster in downtown Manhattan than in 3D where every web and tentacle seems to be reaching out at you. There are some parts of the movie that probably look better without the 3D glasses (I kept checking periodically, lol), but overall you'll have a blast if you see the film in 3D. I think the special effects in this really come to life in many of the climactic scenes, especially in the final battle when Spider-Man takes on the villain. Really worth seeing at least once in 3D this summer.

I saw this movie in its regular version and then I decided I would see it in 3D just to see if there really was a difference. I gave it three stars in my original review, but the special effects are really "special" in 3D so I will give the 3D version an extra star. That still doesn't make up for the fact that there's nothing new in this movie storywise, but it was still an enjoyable experience. The 3D really comes to life in the scenes around Manhattan that showcase just how huge and spectacular the city is, especially when every police helicopter is chasing down Spider-Man. It also really becomes effective when we see Spider-Man moving along all the skyscrapers in Manhattan. The character really comes to life in these moments in 3D and I kept hearing people in the audience gasp out loud when it seemed like he was right in front of them. A good use of technology and not reduendant - for once.

I was kind of confused as to why they chose to title this new Spider-Man movie "The Amazing Spider-Man" until I saw it in 3D - it is AMAZING! Those are some really special special effects that make the movie just -bam!- come alive right in front of you! It's almost scary what they can do nowadays, I know they didn't have these kinds of effects at the movies when I was a kid, though we definitely had 3D. That was more for screenings at amusement parks and stuff. But my kids were saying "ooh" and "aah" and "wow" out loud throughout this movie, particularly when the action ramped up and Peter Parker became Spider-Man. There was one part of the movie when I was totally convinced that he was in my eyeline, just to the left. It was kind of unnerving because I was expecting him to move and until he finally did I was jumpy, I admit. Ha! My kids won't stop laughing at me... :)

This movie is good, but even seeing it in 3D can't hide the fact that it still all feels waaay too familiar. I'm kinda confused as to why they would remake the Spidey movies so soon, but I guess Hollywood will do anything for a buck and we're only too eager to play along to whatever tune they play. Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Sally Field, Rhys Ifans, and Martin Sheen are all in the movie and do pretty good with their characters, though there's not exactly any amazing acting going on here because it is a superhero popcorn movie, after all. The movie is somewhat more entertaining in 3D than it is in regular format though only slightly so. I was hoping for more new action scenes, and even though there's a lot of action in the movie, the scenes all kind of look and feel the same from the Tobey Maguire movie. I think tha's a good thing overall because I love those movies, but a little improvement would not have hurt either.

Peter Parker is BAAAAACK, boys and girls . . . which you probably figured out from the bazillion-people-long lines that are forming at the cineplex right now. I have been waiting ALL year for this movie, and not just because it looks fun and exciting (or because it stars the mega-cute hottie Andrew Garfield- not that that hurts, lol). I have been waiting for a really BIG summer movie with action, adventure, romance, and a kick ass story - and this the AMAZING Spider Man definitely gave to its audience.

The movie is like jaw droppingly great in 3D - I just couldn't get past how FREAKING EPIC the climax battle was. I felt like I was right there with them, watching it live! Emma Stone is super cute in her role, though I wish I got to see more of her on screen; same with Sally Field. The story is the same old Peter Parker story but it has a deeper tone to it because in this one he's picked on in high school and wants to find his parents. In my opinion, it's THE movie of the summer. If you only see one movie this summer, see The Amazing Spider Man . . . in 3D! You won't be disappointed.

I really liked this film and highly recommend seeing it in the theaters because it is fun and entertaining and worth your time. I found the film to be emotionally involving and I liked all of the characters and their stories. I honestly did not expect to like this film because I did not think that the filmmakers can come up with something fresh but i was wrong. Andrew Garfield’s genuine performance really uplifted the film and Emma Stone was great as well and they had a great chemistry on the screen. I saw the film in 3D and I think it looked pretty spectacular and it is worth the extra cash.

My boyfriend is the biggest Spider-Man fanatic you have ever seen, i mean he has Spider-Man sheets and he is 30 years old. Anyway, he dragged me to see this film with me and I actually had a good time watching it. The film was quite good and I liked all of the characters as well as the story. We saw the film in 3D and I think it was totally worth the extra cash because it looked very good and definitely enhanced the experience. I thought that Andrew Garfield did a great job with his role and he was very believable and likable, i also liked Emma Stone and they had a great chemistry together. Overall, I recommend seeing this film in the theaters because it is entertaining and fun.
