Wow, opening night surprise. Beautifully filmed and cast 40-some years in the life and lives of a close-knit mid-American fundamentalist religious community. Non-judgmental to my surprise, R-rated for "Religion" and some f-bombs?? Endearing characters dealing with the ultimate question of bad things happening to good people. Best movie of the season so far..
I really liked this film and I highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. I think that the film was smart and honest and it made me think and question my life and my beliefs, I like when movies are able to do that. Vera Farmiga is a great actress and aprearantly she is a very good director as well, it makes me happy to see strong women in Hollywood. Vera’s sister Taissa Farmiga did a great job with her role and I think that the whole family is just blessed with talent. I liked that the film does not push anything upn you, it lets you watch and decide for yourself.
This is Vera Farmiga first film and I am happy to say it is a really good start. I really liked this movie and I recommend seeing it in the theaters. It has an amazing cast that includes the director herself, Joshua Leonard and Dagmara Dominczyk. I ususally do not like films that are directed by actors, they are more often than not are vain and silly, but this film is an exception. Farmiga not only shined as a director, she also played her role very well. I think that the film is very interesting and smart, the film never judges or preaches, it makes you think and I just love film like that. Overall, I think this is ones of those films that will enhance your life and it is definitely worth seeing.
This is a drama directed by Vera Farmiga and stars Vera Farmiga, Joshua Leonard and Dagmara Dominczyk. I really liked this film and I highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. The film takes a look at what it takes to be a good mother, wife and overall a good person. The main character Corinne reminds me of myself and her quest for a better life is inspiring and sad in the same time. The film is kind of sad and sweet in the same time, it even has some comedic moments and that brightens the overall melancholic feel of the film. I like that the film discusses religion but it does not preach. Overall, I was uplifted by this film and it made me think about life and what it means, I love films like that.
