An excellent story, though you have to give it a few minutes to develop. Unfortunately, it accurately portrays our political system in my opinion, but that is a good thing for the movie. I would watch it again. I felt the actors did a great job with the roles. If you are into politics, regardless of party, this will interest you.

This is a film about corruption, it is directed by George Clooney and stars Paul Giamatti, George Clooney, Ryan Gosling and Philip Seymour Hoffman. I really liked this film and I highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. I usually do not enjoy films like this one but George Clooney is one talented fellow and he can make anything interesting and compelling, he also has an amazing cast and of course has a role in the film himself, sometimes i think he is a superman. The film is very realistic and straight forward and I really like and appreciate that. Overall, this film is worth seeing.

Very disappointing...characters that were shallow and no complexity at all. We all know how vicious and convoluted politics can be, but this story started out with an interesting, promising premise and just when it had the chance to give us the twists and turns we expect from a movie of this calibre, the screen went blank and the credits started rolling. Of course, Giamatti and Hoffman did a fabulous job with what they were given, but they just didn't have much to work with. Clooney played the same person he always does....just exactly the same....Very expensive tickets for a VERY disappointing show.

George Clooney, the filmmaker, makes movies from another time, and that's OK with me. There's not a lot of flash, just solid storytelling, pacing, and acting. The Ides of March continues Clooney's already excellent output as a writer and director, with a well told story of political corruption.

Ryan Gosling stars as Stephen Myers, the second in command for a Democratic governor running for President (Clooney). Myers starts the film off as an idealistic young man, working for a man whom Myers can fully get behind, with the same ideals. Or so he thinks. This film shows all sides of the spectrum. Myers tries to go the straight and narrow, all while having a relationship with a campaign intern. There's the senator who will only give his endorsement for a price, the Republican's very pursuasive campaign manager, and information that can ruin the Democrat's chances, and career.

This movie is based on a play, and as such, is an actor's film. All of the actors are in fine form, but strangely, the one that stands out is Clooney, who has the least amount of screen time. Charismatic one moment, distant the next, Clooney's candidate is a fascinating look at how most candidates probably are, people putting on a show for the public. It's an interesting film that gives us a little insight into real life politics, but doesn't dwell there. It's a morality play about how the political world can turn idealism into cynicism pretty quickly.

George Clooney is one talented man, he can do pretty much anything and there is no stopping him. I really liked his latest film and i recommend seeing it in the theaters because it is thought provoking and it shows the truth, it is not pretty but it is the truth and it also has a brilliant cast that makes this film that much better. the dialogue in the film is wonderfll, it is smart and quick and it keeps the audience on their toes. I know that our political system is corrupted and it is dirty and this film portrays that ugliness perfectly, it could have not been done better

This is a drama about an idealistic staffer of a presidential candidate who gets a lesson in dirty politics, the film is directed by George Clooney and stars Paul Giamatti, George Clooney and Philip Seymour Hoffman. I liked this film and I recommend seeing it in the theaters. This film is very cynical and I like that because it shows the truth and nothing but the truth. I was a Political Science major and as the years passed i became more and more disillusioned with the whole political system and how dirty and disgusting it is. This film was absolutely amazing and I wish every American saw it because it truly shows how rotten our political system is. The film also has an amazing cast and they all did very well with their roles.
