I did not like this movie and I do not recommend seeing it in theaters or renting it. It was not funny, not romantic, the script was unoriginal and unrealistic, the cast was poorly chosen and did a lousy job. Carlos Leon is not a good actor(or he is just really bad in this film) and his constant ass scratching is disgusting, i do not understand why that is essential for his character, or did he think it is funny?! His leading lady Elika Portnoy is no better in her role and I do not understand why she was casted for this role, I know for a fact there are much much better Russian actresses than her. Overall, I hated this film and I hope this review will stop a lot of people from seeing it.

I thought that this movie was charming and quite funny, but a little bit out of touch with reality and the timing was off in a lot of scenes. The movie is about immigration issues in united states mixed in with a little comedy and romance. I thought it was very out of touch with what is going on with immigration in United States, when Elena said that she will not stay if she is not wanted. The movie did not explore any new issues related to immigration and the ending was pretty predictable from the very beginning. I loved the Thanksgiving scene with Mike’s parents, it cracked me up. I thought that the performances were alright, I felt that they were kind of not all the way into their roles and did not give their best. Overall, I suggest renting this film and saving your money for something a little bit better than this.
