This is such a heartwarming movie! Dolly Parton and Queen Latifah provide quite a few laughs and the music is wonderful. Dolly Parton's singing is beautiful as ever. I would definitely recomend this film to anyone looking for something uplifting and refreshing!

I was so surprised that I enjoyed this movie. I'm not a dolly parton fan at all and she can't sing at all, but the banter between she and Queen Latifa was fun. This is a sunny side of the street movie with fantastic songs and vocals. We have enough strife and violence in the world, so its nice to see something uplifting!
I saw it the same night I saw The Artist and The Iron Lady and I enjoyed Joyful Noise the most.

Well, if you like Glee then you will like this film, actually it is like Glee on steroids and it was a bit too much for my taste but it was definitely entertaining. The film is a total cheese fest but if you want to listen to some good songs and see Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton do their thing you might have a good time. Be prepared to roll your eyes a lot and listen to pretty pathetic dialogue, I mean this film is totally not my cup of tea but I can see how some people like it and I have no problem with it. I have to say that the film is acted very enthusiastically and the cast seems to be genuinely excited to be in this film and that is a plus. Overall, if you are looking to be entertained and nothing else this is a film for you.

Thank you so much for the article that has helped me learn more than posts on the subject of clothing or five star hotels

My dad's going to love this one, which is probably why I didn't. Joyful Noise is one of those innocuous films that older people love, because its so sunny and artificial. There is no doubt how the film is going to end, even when "drama" is involved. I'm getting bored just thinking about it.

Queen Latifah plays the leader of a church choir, Dolly Parton a rich widow whose gotten too much plastic surgery (oh, type casting). They are constantly at each other's throats. In this kind of movie, that means Latifah's daughter and Parton's grandson have to fall for each other. There's also a gospel contest, and if you're planning on seeing this movie, you already know the outcome of that. It's all very superficial.

Latifah and Parton are fine, as are the younger cast members, but the movie is just too glossy. There's no drama at all, and the musical numbers, while sung well, are poorly staged and go on too long. Luckily, there's an audience for this film beyond me, and that's my dad. I'm sure he'll be first in line.

This was a terrible film just like the previews show and I hope you will not see it in theaters and not support this kind of movie making. The film was absolutely fake and incredibly dumb. I know some people will eat this movie up and it makes me very sad. This film represents everything that is wrong with our society. It is fake, manipulative and made for one purpose only: to generate as much money as possible. I really wanted to leave during this film but I promised myself to stay till the end and write a review that is not biased, however I am not really succeeding in that but who cares, i am expressing my opinion and in my opinion this film is a disgrace.

This film was not as awful as I though it will be but that it was still pretty bad. There was not even one moment in the film that felt real or genuine and how can one enjoy a film that is totally artificial. If you have seen the previews then you can pretty much say that you have seen this film because it is exactly how the commercials show it. I do have to say that songs in this film were very good and it was kind of sad that the rest of the film totally sucked. Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton (she looks like a corpse by the way) pretty much save this film from being a total disaster and without them it would sink like a stone. Overall, I urge you to save your money and your time and see a different film.

This is a comedy about Divinity Church Choir and tho competing ladies within the choir, the film is directed by Todd Graff and stars Queen Latifah, Dolly Parton and Keke Palmer. I knew this film is going to be a disaster just from watching the previews and i was ready for the worst. The film was pretty bad but I guess not as bad as i thought it will be. Of course it was completely fake and not one moment felt true or real but the singing was good and Queen Latifah was very charming and charismatic and that lifted this movie a little bit. i am not sure what was the target audience for this film because it does not seem to try very hard to please lovers of gospel choirs or Tyler Perry films so it is somewhere in the middle and I think it should have picked a side. Overall, I can not recommend seeing this film in the theaters because it is completely stupid but I do have to say that songs in this film were catchy and soulful.
