I found it entirely enjoyable. I was interested in the story the whole time.
The English redubbing was excellent. I highly recommend it to anyone.
it was a fine movie!
Did not realize this was put out by Disney Japan until it started, which created a dislike for the film initially in the beginning because it was sort of anime inspired and I am not a fan of such artwork. However once I got passed that, I was able to get into the movie and actually enjoy it. Cute story and seeing that I had free tickets was worth it. Would probably have been upset if I had to actually pay the full $10.50 for it though.
I longed for an animation just like this one, it was simple, beautiful and moving and I highly recommend seeing it in the theaters with your whole family. I took my little niece to see it and ended up having a great time myself. I think the film has a great message, wonderful characters and an interesting and engaging story. The movie also looks great and it proves that one does not need 3D or fancy special effects to make an animation that looks great, all you need is talent and a good story. Overall, this film is uplifting and sweet and I had a great time watching it.
I thought this film was fabulous and you can see it with your whole family or enjoy it alone. I thought the film was very sweet and charming and it was very well executed and itlooked amazing visually even though it was created without any special effects, just old-fashioned hand-drawn images. The film is balanced very well and there are moments where one can truly feel the sense of danger and mystery and that is amazing given that the film is animated. I really liked the characters and I genuinely cared about what will happen to them. Overall, I had a lot of fun watching this film and I highly recommend seeing it in the theaters.
If there is any justice in the world, The Secret World of Arrietty will be seen by millions in this country. Unfortunately, the thing that it has going against it is the thing that made me enjoy it so much. Unlike most American animated films, which do their best to throw as much at their young audience as possible, Hayao Miyazaki, the great Japanese animator who wrote the screenplay and picked Hiromasa Yonebayashi to direct this film, take their time, moving seamlessly through different emotional levels. The story, based on the book The Borrowers, involves Arrietty, a miniature 14 year old girl who lives under the floorboards of a Japanese house with her mom and dad. The borrowers go into the full sized human house taking only what they need to survive, and avoiding dangers like birds and house cats. When Arrietty meets Shawn, a full-sized teenage boy visiting the house, they try to strike up a friendship, but this brings on new dangers. The voice work is fine, but what really make the movie great is the animation and the way the story unfolds. Miyazaki has always done nature beautifully, and here, we get to see things from a completely different perspective. As I mentioned earlier, the movie doesn't need to throw loud music or a flash of images at us. It just moves along, sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly, just like life. It's a fantasy movie that feels like it could be real, even though it's just drawings.
I really loved this animation and I recommend seeing it with your family in the theaters. I thought the film was very sweet and simple and I have missed animations like this one, I am so tired of 3D and all the special effects. It is a beautiful story and the characters are very memorable and sweet. I also thought that the music was lovely and it added a lot to the whole atmosphere. The animation also looks beautiful and colorful and it is all achieved through simple hand drawn pictures and that is amazing to me. Overall, if you are longing for a sweet and beautiful family film, look no further.
I really liked this film and I think it is worth seeing in the theaters with your whole family. I went to see this film with my younger sister and she loved and I also thought it was very cute and charming. I liked that it was an old fashioned animation and I really liked how it looked and felt. The film is full of imagination and mystery and you do not see too much of that in children films which is sad. I also really loved the message of the movie and I liked the way it was delivered, it felt genuine and warm. I loved all the characters in the film and I really cared what will happen to them, I thought the film was very charming. Overall, I highly recommend seeing this movie in the theaters.
This is an animated film about a family of four-inch-tall people and their daughter Arriety that gets in trouble because she is discovered by humans, the film is directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi and stars Bridgit Mendler, Amy Poehler and Will Arnett. I absolutely loved this film and I highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. It is an old school animation and that was the best thing about it. I saw the film with my niece and we both had a great time watching it even though it is more for children than adults. The film looks beautiful and it really grabs your attention with amazing focus on detail and aesthetics. The message of the film is also very good and it comes through as genuine and felt which is a huge plus. Overall, I think this film is worth seeing in the theaters.
