I am sure everyone has already said this but Unknown seems like the sequel to Taken. They both star Liam Neeson and are both action/thriller movies with a theme of Neeson having to rescue a family member back. In this movie, it is his wife where mysteriously she stops remembering him and thinks her husband is actually somebody else. This is where the movie gets good. Neeson is not sure if he is crazy or not and goes looking for answers. The movie I felt was just as good as Taken. It was action packed and the mystery was interesting. The movie kept getting more interesting as the story unraveled. Neesom was great in it too. Obviously I don’t think he deserves an Oscar for his performance but it was a solid acting job and he should be recognized for it.

Unknown is Laim Neeson’s latest action flick. His previous action movie, Taken, did so well in theaters that they decided to put him in another very similar film. Unknown is basically a combination of Taken and The Bourne Identity. This movie is pretty standard when looking at other films like it, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it. Neeson is a botanist going to a conference with his wife when after an accident, suddenly she doesn’t remember him anymore and even weirder, there is someone else with her claiming to be him. This is the ultimate scenario where you think you have gone crazy. As I said before, the movie is pretty standard. Neeson must discover the cause of his wife’s loss of memory and unravel the conspiracy revolving around him. I really did enjoy this film, the movie kept getting better and better as the plot line thickened and I was always kept guessing. The action was great, which is nice to say when the main star is a little older. Great movie.

I absolutely love Liam Neeson and I really liked him in this movie as well. The film does not have an original plot and you can pretty much guess the ending in the beginning of the film but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I really identified with Neeson’s character and rooted for him throughout the whole film. I also liked Diane Kruger’s character and I think she did a great job with her role. I was on the edge of the seat throughout the whole film because it was full of action and I was trying to guess who will be the next to die (even though I kind of knew already). I was highly entertained by this film and if you are looking for that in a movie, you will most definitely like this film.

Although this was a very good movie the synopsis above has nothing to do with this film.

I actually liked this film and I did know what is going to happen and there was no mystery for me, but I still had a good time watching it. The movie was exciting enough and had a sense of humor about the tired old storyline. Director Collet-Serra is very good at creating intensity and a sense of pending danger. The scenes are perfectly timed and shot and it makes you jump up in your seat or clenche your fists from suspense. Liam Neeson is in his comfort zone and plays the character perfectly. I had a blast going on a journey with Liam to find out the truth, I knew the truth already but i still had a good time watching Neeson. The film was not excellent but good enough to keep me entertained. I recommend seeing this film on the big screen.

I do not think this movie should have been called “Unknown”, because it is so easy to guess what is going on and how the movie will end. The film was not terrible but it definitely was not good. The plot was done so many times before and the director did not try to make it fresh or interesting either. I have to say that cinematography in the film was really great, I have never heard of Flavio Labiano but he most definitely has talent and a bright future in Hollywood. Liam Neeson is a great actor and he was really good in this film as well, actually in my opinion, he saved this film from being terrible. Bruno Ganz was also amazing and gave a major boost to the film. Overall, I suggest renting this film and saving your money for something a bit better.

It's fascinating to watch Liam Neeson's career as he gets close to 60 years old. Yes, he had been in action films before (Darkman and the Star Wars prequels for instance), but Taken proved that he carry an action film on his own, and that his considerable acting chops could make even the most ridiculous film plausible. In Unknown, he again proves that, no matter how high the body count or how fast the car chases, it's emotional investment in the characters that makes a good movie.

Neeson plays Martin Harris, a botanist who, while in Berlin for a conference, gets in a taxi accident. When he awakens from a coma, he finds that no one around him knows who he is. In fact, his wife is now with another man who claims to be Martin Harris as well. Neeson's Harris finds the cab driver (played by Diane Kruger) and together they attempt to piece together what happened while evading the bad guys.

Director Jaume Collet-Serra does a fine job of keeping the suspense going, throwing in the occasional curveball, and staging some pretty exciting chases. But again, what separates this from a boilerplate thriller is the acting. The supporting roles are generally excellent, with extra props to Kruger and Bruno Ganz. But it's Neeson that holds the film together. He's believable, no matter how crazy the story gets around him. He's a cerebral action star, one that doesn't rely on strength as much as he does his brain. And that makes Unknown something a little different.
